April 4 marks the 45th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s murder
Where: Protests against the NAACP to be held at two locations:
April 3, 10am
NAACP regional office
1156 15th St., Washinton D.C
April 4, 10am
NAACP National Headquarters
4805 Mt Hope Dr. in Baltimore
Who: Church groups, community activists, and black organizations including BANCO (Black Autonomy Network Community Organization).
What: Protest against the NAACP
Why: Demand and end to corruption and misrepresentation by NAACP at all levels and President Ben Jealous, the national board members to resign and members elect the president and a new board.
We will lobby congress to demand that a complete investigation of the NAACP be conducted to show corruption and corporoate influence. We will push for the organization’s 501c3 non-profit status be revoked by the IRS.
We must take action due to the failure of the civil rights organization to represent the best interests of African American communities. Issues range from destruction of the black family, violation of member’s civil and human rights, to the extraordinarily high incarceration rate of black men.
The only word that can define the gross negligence of the NAACP is betrayal. They have abondoned our community’s morality and our economic and educational needs — all for corporate money.
